Nigella - a wonder for the working woman
Long time readers will know of my love for Nigella Lawson. I have five of her books and whenever anyone asks for the recipe of something I have made you can be sure it is Nigella. If we are having people over her books are the first place I go for ideas but her recipes aren't just for special occasions. Nigella knows about busy people and she knows what works. Porchetta, za'atar chicken, minted lamb patties, rigatoni al forno, I could go on and on and I haven't even started on the sweet stuff. If I took good food photos or, at least, had better light in the kitchen, I would food blog.
Speaking of Nigella and food bloggers, I have a new love - Not Quite Nigella. I first came across her last Christmas when I received this fabulous present.
While I was looking at it online I discovered that a Sydney woman had not only loved this cup and saucer so much that she bought it, but that she created a cupcake to go with it. Isn't she clever? Her name is, in fact, Lorraine and her blog is a daily visit for me now. There are lots of recipes, restaurant/cafe reviews and great stories. There is a competition on at the moment and the prize is fabulous....if you live in Sydney which some of you do - you must enter!
So why have I taken time out from the sea of work and uni marking that I am drowning in at the moment? Lorraine has commented on my blog twice now and I feel SO special and a little bit famous :) She is very cool, no wonder she has 70,000 readers a month. Good work Lorraine and keep it up!
