Miffy

I got a fair bit of mileage out of the airport debacle of last Friday. Since then I have been run off my feet at work. We seem to have been booked in to an awful lot of training over a few weeks and that has meant that we rarely have the full complement of staff on deck. On Wednesday I was attending and facilitating an Indigenous family history seminar that was to be presented by the State Library's Indigenous Services librarians. The weather here was beautiful, no fog at all but the weather in Sydney was not so good. I had to try and keep the attendees amused while we waited for the plane to arrive from a very soggy Sydney. Four primary school classes showed up for library tours they hadn't booked and one lady fell down the stairs, frightened her children by bleeding and had to be taken to emergency. I had to deal with IT issues and the washing of an awful lot of tea cups almost by myself. The seminar was really good, I didn't know there were so many great resources for indigenous family history and I am so pleased that our state library has an Indigenous Services team, even if they have to spend half their time on the reference desk. Here we all are in the Historic Council Chambers which is now part of the museum.

Milo has more than doubled in size since we got him and is being a lot of fun. He loves to play soccer and, indeed, anything with a ball. All of the children are good at training him though he still tends to nip and jump all over Bethany. I couldn't resist taking this photo of him while he slept the other evening. Thankfully he is a boy as that is certainly an unladylike sleeping position.

Last weekend, wonderful as it was, did not include a great deal of sleep so I was really looking forward to this weekend. We did sleep in this morning, we went for a ride, played with Milo and Sally, the dog across the road and gave Milo a bath. I also made this Miffy cake for a friend as we have an excellent deal where she does my sewing and I make her birthday cakes.

I am on morning tea at work on Monday and supper at Bible study on Tuesday so tomorrow will see me making food less exciting to look at but a lot nicer to eat - lime curd roulade and raspberry swirl cheesecakes. Hopefully I'll remember to take photos.
