Milk Tart

I saw this on taste.com.au and just had to make it. I'm not sure what made it such a necessity, the name is quite austere. You would think I'd be much more likely to go for a cream rather than a milk tart. Still, I made it and it is SO delicious. This is the photo from the website but I didn't use it because mine didn't look any good, in fact it looked perfect, I just forgot to take a photo. I also discovered that pastry you make yourself is so much better and easier to work with than bought pastry. I have been making little pastry shells with my silicone mini-muffin tins and the recipe calls for bought pastry but I haven't been at all happy with how they have turned out (I have still eaten them mind you). I had some left over pastry from the milk tart and now have fabulous little tart shells. I think lemon curd and a little meringue is in order.

Jossie and her friends are so very into fashion and hair at the moment. I dropped Jossie at school one day this week and the two Hannahs met us at the car. They all had the same side pony-tails. I had to take a photo, hopefully Joss wasn't too embarrassed by that. As it happens I am the one embarrassed as the photo doesn't actually show their matching hair.
