Catching Up
There are several reasons why I haven't posted in over a week. Firstly, the computer is hardly ever free. All three children are now desperate for the computer. Jossie and Toby are mainly on Club Penguin, which is a bit like facebook for kids but with more games, and Jossie also does Mathletics and sometimes research for homework. Bethany plays games on the Playhouse Disney channel and it can be very hard to get her off the 'pewter'. I think the real reason I haven't posted however, is that I haven't taken any photos. Actually, that isn't strictly true, I did take a number of photos at work of the back of the photocopiers for the architects - not exactly blog-worthy.
It wasn't, in fact, a completely boring week. On Wednesday evening we all went to the Botanic Gardens for a BBQ birthday party for one of Toby's friends. It was lovely to sit in the deserted park on a mid-week evening and eat and chat as the children played. Even better, I got to leave the packing up and getting excited children home and to bed, to Andrew as I left early to babysit while Alice and Andrej went to see James Morrison. I diligently prepared for Kids Church and Biblestudy and then I watched Tea with Mussolini. How have I never seen that movie before? It is so very up my alley - Maggie Smith, Judy Dench, Joan Plowright and Cher! My favourite American movie is Moonstruck so I don't care if Cher is a nut, I'm very fond of her. My favourite movie overall is Gosford Park, it bores some people but I love it every time I watch it. What is your favourite movie? (You can have more than one.)
I worked on Saturday and you'll never guess what happened. It rained. Hard. It came from nowhere, the Farmers' Markets in the morning were held in perfect sunshine and in the afternoon there was a wedding in the park across the road. Not just photos, the whole ceremony in the park. It absolutely poured on them, they had to stop and try to take shelter under the trees. Really, you would have thought you'd be safe in Wagga during the drought! Don't ever plan an outdoor wedding!
Mim came over for dinner on Saturday night and I made the delicious Greek lamb and pasta bake and promptly felt too ill to eat it and spent the evening half asleep on the couch watching a Midsomer Murder. I didn't even get back up to make amaretti peaches - sorry Mim. Despite little sleep I made it to church to teach my first class at Kids' Church for the year. I share the teaching of years 3-6 (a big class!) with a friend. It was nice to be back there and the new year threes were lovely, I'm going to enjoy the rest of the term.
We didn't go to the park for lunch after church, though we were invited, as I was still recovering, but late afternoon saw the Scotts drop around, all on their bikes. After a chat we walked them home and decided that we should do that more often. Family walks in the afternoon, what a good idea.
Yesterday was my long day at work. It began with a Seniors Week event that we ran in conjunction with Vision Australia. I was interviewed for the TV again but because I was at work until 7pm and forgot to tell Andrew, we totally missed it! Today I am teaching basic Internet skills to 12 seniors. I teach Internet classes every week, usually to older people, but this is a regular Seniors Week programme. There will be morning tea, I'm looking forward to that.

I'm not at all keen on posting without any photos at all. This photo, found by Carol at work, is on the Beyond Borders Book Club. I feel that way about books! I must say that I am enjoying the club very much. I have found lots of new books to read (how will I find time to read them all?) and am loving the community feel of it. There are some good discussion threads going - just click on updates to see what's new. I'm going there now as I see Chrissie has replied to the Jane Austen thread!
