Wedding in the vines

We're just back from a wonderful weekend filled with love and family at my cousin Nick's wedding. There was lots of driving involved but it was, in every way, worth it. I left work early, around midday, on Friday and drove home through a swarm of locusts. I tried to take photos of them while driving (not smart) but didn't get any good ones. You can see, however, the effect of years of drought.
Andrew came home and we drove for eight hours to country that looks like this.

The drive was so pleasant without the children in the back seat! Andrew's parents most kindly came down to Wagga to mind the children. Phil, Kristin and Charlotte had flown up from Melbourne and Tim, Shona and bump came too so we were all in the house. Tim left early to take photos of Nick and the boys getting ready. This is the rest of us all dressed and ready to go.

Sisters-in-law. Me, Shona and Kristin.

Tim, on the other side of the camera for once.

Nick and Marika, very obviously, blissfully in love.

Brothers and brother-in-law, just after the ceremony.

We are all thrilled to have this photo of the three siblings and their partners. This is our generation (plus one bump).

This is the view from the reception. The weather was quite spectacular, bright and sunny one minute and pouring the next.

The beautiful bride, Marika.

We ate, drank, chatted and danced. It was lovely to spend time with my Granny, my cousins and all the family, a delightful day. Andrew and I slept in this morning and stayed long enough for see everyone when they came over for breakfast. This is my gorgeous niece Charlotte with Henry and Finn who belong to my cousin Mal and his lovely wife, Mel.

So, now we are home, ready for another week. The kids had a wonderful time at home with Nan and Grandad and we are all looking forward to the junior school presentation night tomorrow.
