Nurse Bethany
It makes things so much easier for those of us who work and are, unfortunately, not creative, to have costumes in the wardrobe, ready to go. Sare and Ty gave Bethany this nurse's outfit for her birthday and she wore it proudly today(and it is now soaking in the laundry).
At 7.30 my car arrived and Anne, Michael and I drove to Griffith. It really is a long way away! The training was very good as far as such things go. The catering was perfectly nice but not at all spectacular. I completely forgot about my camera so, sadly, there is no evidence of the day. We went to a bakery and had some gelato and it was very nice but I think my expectations, like Bethany's yesterday, were too high. The landscape is very flat and somehow seems really open and exposed. It is warm today and I suspect it gets ferociously hot in summer. The main street was, on the whole, underwhelming. I imagine that it is great for restaurants but there weren't many cafes where we were. I don't mean to paint a terribly negative picture of the town, the library was great and we had a really fun day but I am just not a girl for summer and it was very summery. I long for hills, trees and temperatures in the 20s.
I arrived home at 5.30 and Jossie came running up to give me a hug. We missed her last night but she was in a room with 7 good friends so I don't think she missed us. She did rock climbing, orienteering, archery, mini Olympics and had nachos (her favourite) for dinner. Tomorrow it's back to normal for everyone.
