Hayfever

There are two reasons why I didn't post last week. Firstly we had a surprise visitor. Our good friend Mim had someone drilling into her bathroom window while we she was having a shower and the police told her to stay somewhere else for a while. It was very frightening but we enjoyed having her! We probably shouldn't do it long term as we stayed up way too late. Bill came down on the weekend and we had a lovely evening of dinner and Scrabble on Saturday. Mum, you will be pleased to know that we didn't use any words not in the dictionary.

The other reason is that I borrowed The Tudors from the library and we watched all ten hours of the first season. It is loosely based on Henry VIII in his early years and we enjoyed it but before recommending it I would certainly warn of the graphic sex scenes and often extreme language. I quite liked Jonathon Rhys Meyers before because of Bend it Like Beckham, but I find him repellent now. We finished them last night and Andrew is at Bible study so here I am at the computer.

This morning Bethany came to the hairdresser with me and in the car she put lipstick on. It isn't really lipstick but it is a bit glittery and she was so pleased with herself. It was hard to understand her as she clearly felt that when you wear lipstick you shouldn't move your lips too much but I did gather that she wanted her photo taken, in the picturesque car park.

Toby had cricket practice for the second time this afternoon. It is highly impractical as I pick Jossie up at 3.15 but Toby has practice until 4.30. The sacrifice starts to get a bit overwhelming when you realise that he will be playing cricket from 8.30 am until 12.30 pm every Saturday morning until Easter. I think this sounds like a father and son thing to me. Toby is the one throwing the ball (thankfully he doesn't throw like I do). Can you spot the girl! Go Aurora, the only girl on the team!

On the weekend it got really hot but it has cooled right down again and I am so pleased. It is a bit much having to cope with heat when it is all you can do to hold your pelvic floor muscles tight while you sneeze for the millionth time and keep from scratching your eyes out. The gardens are pretty and I like being warm but hay fever is no fun at all and the drugs don't work on me. I think I'll have some banana bread with raspberries and white chocolate.
