Girls' Saturday
In our house Saturday is lolly day and wii day. This means that there is only one day that the children are allowed to ask for sweets or to play the wii, which has helped to keep us sane. I must say, however, that it can even get a little tiresome on a Saturday so I was most pleased when Toby was asked to his friend Liam's house for the day and his mother, who already has four boys, could deal with it. I enjoy a go on the wii, I really do, but if I don't go near it for months I am honestly not bothered. Without Toby the wii went untouched!

I love flowers. I love all the colours and shapes, the fresh scent of most of them and the heady perfume of some. I even love to look at whole paddocks of Paterson's Curse. I don't care if it is a weed, it's beautiful. I wish this love translated into a love of gardening. There are so many gardeners in my family I'm sure it will kick in at some stage, but for the moment I'll enjoy the minimal crop of beauty in our garden. There is something very satisfying about filling vases with your own flowers. Bethany and I picked flowers in the morning and the hand belongs to her because she can't help but touch them.

In the afternoon Jossie and I watched Bride and Prejudice while I put her hair in tiny plaits. She has the thickest hair in our family but it still came to only 18 plaits!
