Cinderella goes to the airport

Today, for the first time ever, I remembered that it is dress-up week at daycare on the first day of the week. There were children there who had not come in a costume but Bethany was not one of them! Poor old Jossie and Toby. When they went to daycare I didn't work, so they were only there for one day a week. If I forgot it was dress-up week, it was too late to do anything about it!

Not only did Bethany get to be Cinderella, she also went on an excursion to the airport. They caught a bus, watched planes land and went into a plane and taxied across the runway! What do you imagine was the highlight as far as Bethany is concerned? The bus. I didn't think I had understood her clearly. "You went on the plane?" She informed me that it wasn't fun because it just "drove". She obviously had high expectations. I just love the back of her head when her hair is up.

Toby's day was humdrum but Jossie was even more excited than Bethany, and had been since last night, because this morning she left for her first school camp. They ease them in gently, no week long, inter-state affairs, they are twenty minutes away at Borambola and will be back at three tomorrow afternoon. They aren't allowed to take sweets, the over-consumption of which is all I remember about my trip to Canberra in Year 6, but she has been looking forward to it immensely.

Joss was up bright and early. I wonder what she is up to right now? Here she is with a friend, getting ready to go.

I am being picked up at 7.20 tomorrow morning to drive for 2.5 hours to Griffith for LIAC training. Every public library has a Law Information Access Centre collection and three of us are going to Griffith for training. Fascinating as it sounds, we are rather excited about the fact that Griffith, having a large Italian population, has some wonderful bakeries. We're taking an esky.
