Borrowed puppy

As Bethany and I arrived home after Bible study yesterday, a chocolate Labrador puppy came bounding up to us with no humans in tow. For the next hour or so we imagined ourselves with a pet.

Bethany loves animals and has no fear. She doesn't mind being nipped or licked and she spent ages with Mum and Dad's dog, Chloe, when we were in the Hunter. So, Andrew
and I were feeling a little guilty. Maybe we should get a dog....She'd really love it...Pets are very good for kids.

Look how cute he is and how much Bethany wants to play with him. He loves me too, see?

So, after going inside for lunch, during which he whined at the front door, we went outside again for a play. Within minutes he had tried to pull Bethany's pants down (according to her), gotten his teeth stuck in her shirt and started biting her hair.

He was really keen on her plaits and she started to say that he was annoying her. Phew! All it took was ten minutes of playing with a rambunctious pup and Bethany had had enough.

Poor little thing, it took the rejection hard and sat there for around an hour. By the time we left to pick up the others from school, he had gone.
