We won!
Well, if the council wishes to keep paying me more than they are meant to they can keep scheduling training on non-work days. I learnt how to use PowerPoint better on Wednesday and it was as exciting as you might imagine. Being an organised person, OK maybe anal is a better word, it puts me out considerably to work on my cleaning day! I can be flexible, I can adapt, so you will be pleased to know we are not living in squalor. On Thursday morning we didn't go to Lisa's for Bible study, we drove out to Rosie's farm at The Rock. The Rock is not just a big rock, it is a little town next to a big rock. I had Andrew K with us and he was a bit disappointed that Rosie's farm is not the 'milkshake farm'. It took me a few seconds to work out that he thought we were going to At the Farm, a local cafe....I was thinking he meant a farm with cows, running around so their milk was frothy.
We finished the Bible School of Prayer we have been doing at church and in our Bible studies with a prayer retreat. We each found a spot in a paddock to pray by ourselves until we got too cold to stay outside! Andrew and I did give some thought to buying the piece of land I was praying on here. Can you see the big rock?

Yesterday was the last day of school for three weeks! Mim is very excited as she has two of those weeks off and brought Moscato and chocolate over last night to celebrate. We watched Emma, the Gwyneth Paltrow version, and loved it as much as ever. Mr Knightley is my favourite Austen hero because he cares more for Emma's character, for her godliness, than making her love him. Jeremy Northam makes a very handsome Mr Knightley. Andrew is very good to watch
these movies with us! Tonight he is being very macho and watching James Bond.
Sadly Andrew and I have used up all our holidays and grandparent babysitting favours! Still, I'll enjoy not doing the school run on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Next week we also get a week off hockey! This morning Andrew and Toby went to help a friend move house so Bethany and I took Jossie to hockey. I must admit that I resent the loss of a sleep-in, but hockey was well worthwhile because we won! This was the first game that Jossie has won and she, and the rest of the team, played really well. Perhaps she does take after Andrew in the sporting arena after all. See how sporty she looks!?

I thought it would be hard to keep Bethany warm and amused but she is a resourceful little girl. She got lots of exercise too, running...
And being a kangaroo.
This is the goalie on Jossie's team. He is shuffling backwards because he can't walk in that outfit. I didn't get to see how well he can move to save goals because the other team didn't shoot very many, but I think his best option would just be to lie across the goal.

At half time, when they had to swap sides, his team mates took pity on him and carried him.
With the rest of our Saturday we have made invitations for Bethany and Jossie's parties, done lots of washing and cooking. We are having people over for lunch after church tomorrow so I am looking forward to that. I would like to be at the Westerton, however, so I'll just take a quick trip back there via my photos. This is Callander.

After Tim had recommended a walk up Ben A'an and then Mike and Lesley, from the Westerton, also said how much they enjoyed it, I decided that we would make the trek. Sometimes I don't really think things through, I mean, I really don't like major physical exertion. Ben A'an is a mountain, why did I think climbing it would be fun? I just checked my diary, before walking up a mountain I had cereal, yoghurt, juice, tea, two poached eggs, three (!) rashers of bacon (thankfully short-cut), sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomato and toast. I can't tell you how hard it was for me to walk up that mountain. This photo was taken just minutes into the walk and I thought it was a very nice view.
I soldiered on and further up the view looked like this (maybe we could stop now I thought).
I kept it all together and the view from the top was, thankfully, worth it.

This last photo was taken on the way down. I enjoyed walking down the mountain very much. I was rather ashamed though when I saw all the little children and even a mother with a toddler in a backpack walking up with no complaints. I never claimed to be fit, and Tim told me (when we got back, would you believe it) that he nearly lost his breakfast too when he and Shona did the walk.
