Happy Birthday Bethany!
Last night we tucked in our three year old for the last time. This morning she woke up as a four year old, very excited. She expects to turn five now, any minute, so she can make her own toast and other grown up things Jossie and Toby do. We'll face that disappointment another day, today she was just happy to be four.
Tuesday is a work day for me so Bethany had to go to daycare along with Joss and Tobes who are on holidays. I said that I would make a cake for Bethany and suggested a 4 cake but she was absolutely set on Elmo. Last night I made the cake and this morning I got up early to ice it. It turned out OK though I was most unimpressed when, after trying three shops, I couldn't find big marshmallows for his eyes and had to use little marshmallows which spoilt the look a bit. I also dropped the whole cake, two thirds iced, at one point, very early this morning, and there were tears but I managed to resurrect it and Bethany was thrilled.
Thank-you to our friends and family who were so thoughtful and organised, sending her presents in plenty of time so she could wake up to this.

The joy of presents!
Jossie was very helpful, reading the cards for Bethany. She said it was like a practice run for next week when it is her turn. Bethany loves her new puppets.

She is very snug in her Dora dressing gown.
We are all, including the puppets, in tip top health thanks to Doctor and Nurse Bethany!
It has been a big day, I'm looking forward to a holiday sleep in tomorrow!
