We're home!
Sorry about the delay, we've been a bit tired! I hadn't really given jet lag much thought but would have to say now that it definitely exists!
We arrived in Sydney around 6am and spent the longest time yet in customs. Sydney airport is very disorganised. At least it ate up some of our wait for the flight to Wagga. We finally boarded that plane and left Sydney at 11.30 to land in the delightful, if terribly dry and brown, Wagga. Mum was there to meet us, the kids were at school/daycare, and it was so good to see her! We showered and attempted to feel alive and alert while Mum went to an assembly that Joss was dancing at and then brought all the kids home.
What great joy to see them! There were tears and lots of hugs, Bethany immediately asked for presents. We handed some out and spent the rest of the day enjoying cuddles and stories of what went on while we were gone. Bethany kept asking if we had come back.
At the dinner table my eyes were closing so Mum sent me to bed, taking care of the kids. Mum and Dad were so good to stay for another couple of days to let us settle in. We were in bed that night for twelve hours which , I thought, would make us well rested, but it has been quite difficult for us to adjust - we keep waking up at 1am!
Tomorrow we go back to work and life returns to normal. I will continue to share photos from the trip as well as keeping you up to date with what is going on for us - sorry that it will be dreadfully boring after the last four weeks!
