We'll always have Paris
It has taken me half an hour to get this far - this French keyboard is totally messed up! I could probably upload photos here and everything but I didn't bring my cord out. Anyway, start from the beginning.
We had a delightful last day in Ireland. Andrew, Paul, Ryan and Daniel went to the local Pitch and Put for some golf. Local children came to see the Australians who talk funny. The sunny weather followed us so that I could sit on the deck in the gentle sunshine, reading magazines, drinking wine and chatting to Sara. We even had a BBQ. We had fun playing Cadoo with the boys after dinner. I really think Jossie, Toby and Bethany would have had a ball...... next time, or they can come to us ;)
Dublin airport is a bit mad but it only takes an hour and a half to fly to Paris. We are staying in Opéra (actually I can't remember if that is the right accent on the e but I just wanted to use the cool features of the keyboard that is otherwise driving me mad). There is a bus that goes directly to Opéra from the airport which was excellent because we could just walk to our hotel from there. It was very interesting driving into the city, once you get towards the centre the streets become very distinctively Parisian.
Our hotel is right in the middle of things - this city is alive! We have been in Galleries Lafayette, a huge department store, and went right onto the roof for a fabulous view of the city. I turned around and a young man was on one knee proposing! To his girlfriend, not to me. The city of love.....
We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant across from the hotel, I haven't had Japanese for ages, and then began wandering until we found computers. We are looking forward to the last four days of what has been a wonderful holiday for us. It has been great to be just a couple for a while, we have had so much fun, but we are looking forward to seeing the kids on Friday- I hope they have bought me lots of presents ;)
