Last night in Paris...almost
We don't actually fly out of Paris until sometime around 11.45pm tomorrow but this is our last whole night in Paris. Sadly our favourite Internet café is on the blink this evening and the one we have come to instead has let me save 10 photos to help you picture our day but they won't upload to blogger. This may mean that you won't get any more photos until we get home, what a shame!
We made a pretty good fist of today. We went to the Musée D'Orsay where we saw the most beautiful paintings and sculptures! I really loved it - Monet, Renoir and Degas. Again our Museum Pass was excellent as we skipped the very long queue.
From there we walked up the Champs-Elysées towards the Arc de Triomphe where we used our Museum Pass again, this time to inflict pain on ourselves as we climbed 245 stairs, but then exhilaration as we took in the view.
The shopping is pretty amazing along the Champs-Elysée and I splurged in the most fabulous patisserie which had a dazzling array of sweet treats, more beautiful than you can imagine. So I can say I have shopped on the Champs-Elysée even though I didn't go into Louis Vuitton.
Seeing as we were sort of in the area we walked over the river and up to the Eiffel Tower. The queue wasn't too long so we bought tickets up to the very top. It is quite an amazing ride to the top, two rides actually, and it was cold and windy up there!
We caught the train back part of the way as our feet are getting pretty tired by this stage. If I hadn't eaten so much on this holiday I'd be very fit. Jossie, Toby and Bethany, we'll see you soon!
