After the weekend, York
I realise that it is Wednesday already but I will share photos from the weekend because Blogger is finally behaving. Jossie didn't have hockey on Saturday morning so we got to sleep in, yay! Andrew took the kids to the Junee pool so I had a leisurely morning in the kitchen. I produced this cake for the youngest Scott's birthday.

A morning at the pool was not nearly enough action for Andrew, Jossie and Toby so they went to play golf at the pitch and putt (now pronounced the Irish way - put). Bethany and I picked little Andrew K up and went to the park. This is Bethany asking me to push her on the swing, she likes to go very high.

Going forwards at full pace on the wobbly wombat.

The very tricky backwards wombat. Apart from anything else, wasn't her lower back cold?!

Bethany and Andrew were very pleased with themselves after their activities and happy to pose.

So, with the present covered lets go back to the UK. After we said goodbye to Trish and Geoff and had lunch in Rochdale with Roger and Eunice, we drove to York. Our B&B was just outside the old city and within easy walking distance of York Minster which is very impressive.

The city is gorgeous and it was warm as we wandered around in the early evening.

We found this shop and took this photo to dedicate to Tim, Shona and all my Goldsmith family.

Then, just around the corner we found this shop! You will be pleased to know that we ceased calling Bethany Fat Face, though it is still apt.

We had dinner in a cool little cafe and Andrew tried a local beer - it was a bit strong.

Thanks to my diary I am able to say exactly what we had for dinner - mine was pumpkin, spinach and blue cheese lasagne and Andrew had cottage pie. We were really enjoying York, after only spending a few hours there and were sorry to be leaving in the morning. We did, however, get up early enough to do a bit more sight seeing in York before we drove to Scotland but I'll save that for another day. I can't wait because it was wonderful!!
