Sunny Edinburgh
It may be sunny but it is very cold! This morning we headed straight to Edinburgh Castle where my Granny Goldfinch was stationed during the war. Thankfully we went early because it was very popular. The wind was very strong and the views amazing. We saw the crown jewels of Scotland and Mary Queen of Scots apartments as well as where prisoners of war were kept.
We also went down the hill to the other end of the Royal Mile to see the Palace of Holyroodhouse. This is a working palace where the Queen stays when in Edinburgh. It was brilliant, no photography allowed inside. The gardens and the ruined abbey were lovely.
We went to see where Tim got his best tattoo, sadly I didn't get one for myself. We have really enjoyed Edinburgh, at once grand and grungy. Tonight we are going to Monster Mash for dinner. We had breakfast at Chocolate Soup but I virtuously didn't have anything with chocolate in it!
This is where Harry Potter was born.

This is not where Harry Potter was born. He was born in Nicholson's Tea Rooms (now the Buffet King Chinese restaurant)in Nicholson Street.
