Our first castle

We had such a lovely time with Cally and Aunty Bunny that we hardly wanted to leave. Here we are in front of their house. Actually, the photos are refusing to load so I am going to post text only this evening I'm afraid.

We drove, not very far, to Stratford-upon-Avon to see Shakespeare's birthplace. A large number of French school students were also there but it was very interesting.

Just up the road is Warwick Castle. Most of the British Heritage places we have visited have not allowed photos to be taken inside so Andrew left his camera in the car. At Warwick Castle everyone was taking photos and there were no signs so we took lots with my camera. I should be getting my cord back the day after tomorrow (thanks Pam!) so I may show you the pictures then. It was quite amazing, we went up on the battlements and were so high up I was scared but it was a brilliant view.

A couple of hours later and we drove into Chesterfield where Granny grew up. We're staying with Trish and Geoff and are having a great time. Trish took us down to The Knoll, the house where Granny lived. We knocked on the door and asked if we could take a photo.A tattooed young man said we could do what we like so we went for a wander around and took a couple of photos. It has been a great day and I can't wait for the photos, maybe they'll work tomorrow. Good night!
