A day in the Cotswolds
We woke to a sparkling day in Icomb, perfect for taking photos of a perfect place. Actually, it didn't stay sunny all the time and it wasn't warm, sorry if you are getting sick of the sight of my coat, gorgeous as it is. Cally and Aunty Bunny have been such wonderful company, we are having the time of our lives. This is the house we are staying in.

Cally took us for a walk around the village and we have spent a lot of today having ridiculous conversations about moving here. There simply aren't enough superlatives, this area is simply stunning. All the buildings must be made of stone, fields with stone walls or hedge rows everywhere.

This lovely church is in the village and is lovingly cared for by the villagers in a community effort.

We went to a church in Oddington that was really ancient with paintings on the walls from the 1400s. It was abandoned during the plague and they built a new one but have now restored the old one. We then drove to Chastleton House.
After lunch we went to visit Diana in hospital, she sends her love to Mum and Dad and Granny and Bamma. On the way we put Andrew in the stocks at Stow on the Wold for being a naughty boy.

Diana told us that Granny and Bamma stayed at the Lygon Arms in Broadway so we went there for a cream tea. The photos of the tea and scones are on my camera so you'll have to wait for that.

We then drove to Chipping Campden, another beautiful, old Cotswolds village. We stopped at the top of a hill on the way from which there is the most spectacular view that you can almost see in this photo!

The church at Chipping Campden is where Andrew took this photo.
On the way back to Icomb we stopped at the top of the hill and Andrew took this photo of the car, included here for Tim.
Aunty Bunny has a beautiful garden and Andrew and I had lots of fun taking photos in it.

Tomorrow we leave the Cotswolds and head up to Chesterfield where Granny grew up. We'll take in Stratford upon Avon and Warwick Castle on the way. Another tough day....
