The light
For ages now I have been getting up on my work days in the dark. It hasn't been getting light until 7 and I have had such trouble waking the children. This was Bethany's room at 7 this morning.

Yay for the end of daylight saving! Jossie came in at 6.30 to watch me make lunches and we had a cup of tea together. I gave her Earl Grey and she didn't like it!
On the weekend I cleaned out all our clothes cupboards and made sure everyone has seasonally appropriate clothes in the right size. Apart from some sentimental items, I got rid of everything that is too small for the children. I found the tutu from Jossie's ballet recital when she was 5. Bethany had to put it on right away.

I have had a pretty busy couple of days at work. Local Studies collections are really most popular with older people as history seems to become more important to people as they get older. This week is Seniors Week so, of course, I had to put on an event. It is also the National Trust Festival which is very good timing because I combined the two and just held the one event. We had a local historian come and talk about the Tichborne trial which was one of the most famous impostor trials ever. A butcher from Wagga claimed to be the long lost Sir Roger Tichborne, many people, including Sir Roger's mother, believed him but he didn't win. This is what he looked like before he went to gaol.

He wasn't as robust afterwards. Today Chrissie and I taught seniors to use the Internet. You must provide scones with jam and cream for Seniors Week events. Remember when I said that we were up for a local government cultural award? Well, my boss Claire and I, along with museum and cultural services managers are going to the awards dinner at Parliament House in Sydney! I don't think we'll win, but it should be a fun, if fleeting, trip. If you haven't already done so I'd appreciate your vote because, seeing as we are driving (yes, driving) all that way it would be great to win! They judge the projects on lots of different criteria, it was quite a big submission, but this is the people's choice vote and anyone can vote. Thanks!

We're all excited because Mum and Dad are coming down on Friday, just in time for the farmers' markets and to see Joss play hockey. I'll try to remember my camera.
