Diva

Jossie had a fancy dress birthday party to go to today. We toyed with the idea of her wearing my summer kimono, we even tried it on, but it was so heavy and involved, and it is still so hot, that she went as a cowgirl instead. As it turns out she was the only girl who didn't go as a fairy or a princess - how typical of them all!

We went into town this morning to buy the birthday girl a present. I usually avoid town on a Saturday morning as it gets so busy. It can be very disconcerting to see large groups of young men looking like Bronski Beat, but then I remember that we have an army base in Wagga. They are all much too young to remember Bronski Beat, anyway. We were going to go to a brilliant toy shop but Jossie decided we should go to Diva. Diva is a fantasy world for young and teenage girls - tacky jewellery from floor to ceiling. The 80s are definitely back.

We made our choice and many future choices for when Jossie gets her ears pierced, and went to a shoe shop where I bought comfy shoes to walk all over England, Scotland, Ireland and Paris in. I love red shoes!

While Joss was at her party, Toby, Bethany and I made chocolate chip bikkies.

Maybe its because I have hardly any hair and Jossie has hers reasonably short these days, but I can't help trying to make Bethany's hair exciting. Guess what we are going for tomorrow?

Nice shoes Baimbos. It's always nice when you find that thin line between form and function!
Bethy looks like a little rasta in that last photo! Have you been pulling out Bob Marley records or something? GIven Marley's reputation, that could explain why you needed so many cookies (I counted 4 trays!) You've all got the munchies!
