First day back at school
Jossie woke up bright and early this morning, bursting with excitement about going back to school. Toby was excited too, though not quite so enthusiastic, and Bethany just wanted to play Hungry Hungry Hippos. Jossie's uniform is brand new and looking beautiful while Toby's white shirt has permanent texta marks on it from last year.... who thought white was right for little boys?
The students starting their library degree at CSU this year are at residential school at the moment. Five years ago I was sitting among them but this morning I told them about public libraries and local studies. I haven't given a talk to 102 people before so I was a bit nervous, especially as I had used Powerpoint for the first time and was concerned it would freeze or something. Thankfully it all went pretty well, though I spoke a bit softly.
I made a lemon chiffon for when Mim comes over tomorrow night while Bethany rested. Thankfully she didn't sleep because sleeping in the afternoon tends to mean playing very late at night! We picked Joss and Tobes up from school - Toby got a sticker - and went to the fish man on the way home. Thursday is fish from Ulladulla day! The kids had an iceblock and played in the garden followed by more hungry hippos.
Tomorrow I start teaching seniors how to use the Internet and any other computer things they want to learn. It's a new programme that I am starting because I think that older people are put off by very simple things and could get so much benefit out of their computers if they became confident. I am hoping to turn some of them into bloggers!
