It has transpired that our growing girl is a little long sighted. It started with a few complaints that words were a bit blurry - so we took action and made a trip to the optometrist yesterday. After a series of tests and a couple of photos, the advice was that she be prescribed some glasses for reading. It's pretty mild, but will make all the difference apparently. We spent a while choosing the frames, and in the end we were lucky enough to have chosen ones that both daughter and parents liked. She is especially enjoying the novelty aspect at the minute, and is already the envy of the fashion gang at school who will no doubt be telling their parents that words are getting a bit blurry.... Glasses aren't cheap I discovered - however, for someone who loves books as much as Joss, this bill I was happy to pay...

PS - Joss enjoys reading this blog from time to time - I'm sure she'd love to know what you all thought...
