Party

Partytime

Toby had his long awaited, belated 5th birthday party on Saturday. Even though his birthday is in January, we decided to wait until school started so he could invite friends from his class. This turned out to be a good decision as we got to know the kids a bit and some parents too. Toby also wins, as he's the one who's party it was, therefore he is cool.... not that it's about that of course...

Amy made a good cake for them all (as you can see). I'm not sure our kids have any idea how lucky they are to have a mum who has the ability to create glorious cakes, let alone meals, deserts etc etc... I'm quietly hoping that they all will inherit not only the love of good food, but their mothers ability when it comes to the preparing of that food. The odds have to be pretty good when you think that the gene goes back at least 2 generations that I know of prior to Amy... And in the quiet of my mind, I forsee myself as an elderly man (who has aged well) sitting back on a comfortable lounge next to Amy (not looking over 35), gazing out from our spacious seaside apartment balcony to the endless clear blue sea, listening to good music whilst being doted upon by devoted children who have taken time out from their busy restaurant businesses to provide for their parents... backtrack - live music provided by our child who has just started a career as a concert pianist... or some such...

mmm...cake
