Friends, Games, Bunks and Fun

Trying something new

Our good mates Janice and Dave have been here for over a week now - they head home tomorrow which is sad - it's been lovely to spend time with them again, they are good people. While they've been here we've played a couple of new games I didn't know about - 'Scene it' (includes DVD) involves movie trivia mainly - it was pretty good; and 'tipofyatung' which involves finishing quotes or film lines or song lines etc. It was fun too... I didn't win any game, but it's not about the winning, is it... Though this would be a good point to acknowledge and congratulate Janice on becoming the latest Junee Organic Licorice Verticle Bowling Champion...(you will have to ask).

Dave helped me assemble a bunk bed for the kids. Wagga only had crappy ones when I looked, so I went to Albury and found a really nice white one which we put together the other day. Joss and Toby are enjoying it and each others company so much they've decided to now share a room. Toby has his first day at school next Tuesday, so we'll see if this enthusiasm wanes once they both start back.

I'm really beginning to love this new camera of mine. I decided to give the long exposure thing a go, and I think I'm getting a handle on getting light right. What I'd like to know is (Mal or Tim or anyone who knows), what do I look for in a good macro lens, and what sites do you go to for info - there are lots of user groups around, but I'm sure you've trodden this path and know the gems...
