The Aviary

I used to have one years ago... Birds make interesting pets - the good thing is that they generally take care of themselves and don't need your attention. We got some finches and a couple of quail to start off with - the finches are already nesting, they must be comfortable in their new home. The kids enjoy watching them, and as time goes on, it'll be fun keeping and breeding different types of birds. I bought the aviary for next to nothing from a NUM at the hospital - it's big, around 6ft x 9ft, so does the job well. I had looked into buying a new one, but they are stupidly priced!

Other news - we've just finished the Wagga Wagga Christian College Junior School musical. This year it was on Noah - Joss' old teacher and our good friend Mim did most of the work, and I wrote a few of the songs and played piano for it. There were 4 performances and it went off! I have to admit it was a buzz to have 180 or so kids singing songs I'd written with such enthusiasm and enjoyment. I've been told that they are making a DVD of it, so that'll be fun to watch. There are a few photo's on Flickr if you want to look.

Toby's over his chickenpops, and we're all well despite a bit of hayfever.... Spring is great and sux at the same time... and on that note, I'll end this post....
