Holiday interruptions...
It was never going to be a relaxing holiday - they rarely are these days, so I guess we can't be suprised. We headed to Sydney last Saturday and have been here all week. Phil and Kristin have very kindly let us use their place as a base as we go about doing the usual running about required when we come to Sydney. This visit also, actually mainly, was for Amy to complete a requirement of her Uni course by visiting a bunch of libraries around town. Tomorrow Amy will complete her thing, and on Saturday we will head back to Wagga.
The hiccup in the whole story comes when Joss and Toby both become sick on the one night. Joss recovers after a day, but Toby gets slowly worse, ending up in a very awkward trip to the doctors for an injection to stop the frequent vomiting (at this point I would like to reassure P&K that hygeine has been top priority here - the place will most likely be sterile by the time we leave, and Toby never ever misses the bowl). It is a little frightening for us when Toby gets sick. He fades very quickly, and this episode was looking worryingly similar to when he was hospitalised last December. However, thankfully he slowly improved and things were looking up until I unfortunately discovered on him the obvious characteristics of "Chicken Pops"... and that is where this story ends. He is now asleep, bring on tomorrow.
It's not all bad though. Although having to cancel some things - Beth and I had a lovely breakfast with Sare & Ty; Amy and I had a fun evening with Tim & Shona; Amy's parents, Tim & Shona came to see us; we saw Flip & Rob and the kids for a bit and Joss and I even went late night shopping tonight. So although not exactly a holiday, we shouldn't complain. Curiously I look forward to heading back to Wagga. Life is as busy as you make it I guess, but it seems to me that everything is a touch more hectic in Sydney. Lots of important things happening endlessly. I think it's a shame. I'll put it down to traffic.
