If it's not a hook in the eye.......
Well, the little boy is on the mend. Last Friday I took him to the doctors as he'd had gastro and couldn't keep anything down. She advised diluted juice, dried foods etc and to monitor and take to emergency if there was no improvement. Within a couple of hours I decided that I was going to take him anyway - he was quickly assessed, canulated, given a bolus dose of IV fluids and taken to the kids ward. Amy and I took turns the next few nights sleeping there as he improved slowly. Despite looking much better, he still couldn't keep anything down for a while, and stayed very lethargic. He had to have daily blood tests, his IV adjusted for electrolyte imbalance, and many books read to him. His poor little tummy was distended, and the doctors were worried he was getting an ileus, ie bowel obstruction. But thankfully, given some time, his now little body started to fix itself - he's now at home, eating and drinking (cautiously) and starting to be himself again. We are very thankful to all those who came and visited, helped us with meals etc, and those who prayed for him too. You are all legends....
