It's been a hard day's night...
I've got to vent....
On-call for work last night and tonight. Wednesday I worked from 2-10:30pm, came home, got called back at 11pm, came home at midnight, called back at 2:30am, went home at 4am, back at 8:30am until 5pm, called in at a surgery on the way home (more work) for 1hr, home, read to kids, dinner, NBA Xbox with Steve (I lost), back at work at 11pm until now... it's just after midnight. I'm stuffed!
This is no sort of lifestyle for a family man! Thankfully, it's not every night I'm on-call and thankfully this whole scenario is not quite the norm. I AM glad that I'm doing a job that is directly helpful to people, and I AM glad that on-call rates are reasonably generous. However... I have never been in more love with my pillow than I am right now.
In other news - Mum & Dad (Ron & Sue) are staying at the moment. They have played with the kids, chatted to the neighbours, taken themselves around Wagga, bought some local goods, and generally just had a holiday.... from their lives as a retired couple. Good for them! We're waving bye to them on Saturday, and then we can look forward to Sare & Ty heading down in a few weeks - cool - it's fun having family around!
