Time with dad...
Beth and I hung out this morning, and it was great.
I seem to be working more and more hours due to a lack of experienced and suitably qualified staff, and I'm also on-call a little too often for my liking. It will be rectified soon, but for the time being, I'm busy! Time at home is filled with all sorts of things; there are endless logistics managing 3 kids (Amy tends to do most of it!), then there are my shifts, getting stuff done around the house, the usual necessities plus all the other stuff you voluteer for and/or are part of... so you get the picture - at the moment, we're in 4th gear with the nearest slow down lights a few weeks away yet!
The point of telling you all that - I want pity (kidding)... no - I find myself constantly thinking carefully how I can spend decent time with each of my kids, outside of the normal feeding/washing/betime routine. I understand the importance as all dad's probably do, and I think I do ok - it's just been a process of prioritising. Joss and Tobes get a decent dose of Dad, I often just take one out just for fun, and it is fun. Beth though is my most neglected - but this morning that changed. Amy was out doing somthing, so it was just her and I, playing on the trampoline, reading, getting emails, chewing on Lego, eating some rediculous mash of vegetables that she loved and I hated. All in all - a great morning! We also had a photo shoot - she's my beautiful girl!
