Ask me no questions...
Ever since my favourite twins (hang on, scanning brain for real life twins.... Steve is a twin, but I don't know his sister, Janice has twin nephews but I don't really know them... OK its safe to like Fred and George the best) said it in The Order of the Phoenix, I have been longing to say 'ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies'. The opportunity presents itself less often than you might think. Usually when you don't want someone to know the truth about something, you don't want them to know that they don't know...if you know what I mean. For example, if I ask you if I look fat in this outfit, you will want to lie and you won't want me to know you are lying. If you say 'ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies' you may as well have said 'very'. Anyway, I got to say it on Sunday and I enjoyed it very much - it was in relation to the disappearance of a couple of tins of International Roast at church... there is a huge tin of Moccona sitting there unused... something had to be done. So, is there something you would love an opportunity to say?
I like to write about what the kids are doing, not only so that you who are far away can know, but also so that we can remember. So, Jossie and Toby are really enjoying the advent calendar (or candelar as Toby calls it) thanks again Sare. I have learnt that when they get candy canes from the calendar not to let them eat them right after breakfast and then go shopping - it is hard to calm down hyper kids at Coles full of Christmas stuff. Toby is pretty good at shutting the 'scream' door so as not to let in the flies. Joss and Tobes like to play a game where Joss is the mother and Toby is the child, and Joss puts on an English accent, instead of the usual American one, as she calls him darling and tells him what to do. Before you think that she is acting out what she sees me do, I never use the word darling. Bethany is scratching the hey out of her own face and my neck, and she is eating all sorts of real food. Toby insisted on trying a mouthful of rice cereal only to spit it out immediately, screaming as if I had tried to poison him - I even had to wipe his tongue to get it all off, he was so upset.
We are really looking forward to seeing many of you in the next week or so, we just have to get through the car trip....
