Hellboy
Six weeks after Toby was born I felt that things were finally settling down. We got to the same stage with Bethany not long after coming home from the hospital, but the six week mark did bring further improvement. Bethany is now settling really well after the early evening feed so that she needs to be woken for the late evening one. This means that I can go to the movies! The first thing I wanted to see was Hellboy, so I went on Friday night. It may seem an unlikely choice for a 32 yr old woman, and my friend Bronwyn declined the invitation to join me despite wanting to get out, but I really enjoyed it, I might even get the DVD (or DVDV as Toby calls them). The fact that Ron Perlman plays Hellboy was a big drawcard for me as I adored Vincent so much (the beast from Beauty and the Beast - I was in year 10 alright!), and he was great. Andrew said that some of the special effects were a bit 80s, but I don't care about special effects, I'm into characters, and the characters were very likeable. The point of the movie seems to be that it isn't what you're born as that matters, its the choices you make and how you live. Hellboy came from hell and looks like the stereotypical devil - he is red with a black goatee, a tail and horns - but he files his horns with an angle grinder in order to fit in! So I recommend it, but I do have weird taste.
Toby has tonsillitis but the kids are otherwise doing very well. When Toby has a temperature he gets quite painful and Andrew said the other night that Toby had driven him nuts that day. Jossie was keen to have her good behaviour acknowledged so she said "I didn't give Daddy any nuts did I?" She has been thinking about nuts lately because she is 5 and therefore allowed to eat them. She really feels, therefore, that she should eat them, even if she doesn't like them. Jossie is also into writing at the moment and Toby loves to do what she does. He can write t and o, and he thinks that he can spell anything with those 2 letters, eg. toot = Mummy! He does 2 other cute things - he gives Andrew a kiss good night then vigorously wipes his mouth as though it was gross, and I am trying to teach him to spit his toothpaste out, but he swallows the toothpaste then leans over the sink and says "puh puh". That's our news, hope you are all well.
