Fast Food
I've been meaning to post this story for a while...
I drove into the KFC drivethrough lane the other week for celebratory post birth snack and the following conversation ensued:
Girl: "Welcome to KFC - how has your day been?"
Me: "Uh - Good thanks"
Girl: "What would you like today?"
Me: "Small popcorn chicken and a juice please"
Girl: "Sure - that'll be $$$"
Me: "Right - here you go"
Girl: "Thanks - How has your day been?"
Me: "Uh - was my last answer unsatisfactory?"
Girl: "Great, please drive to the next window"
Me: "ok"
Girl: "Have a great day"
Next window...
Girl: "Hi, how has your day been?"
Me: "It's getting weirder"
Girl: "That's nice - here's your order - have a great day"
I'll blame it on one of those 12 secret herbs or spices...
I went back to work today after a nice long break - normally we spend our holidays away, but this one we didn't because of the new little one... So it was a good chance to get stuff done that I don't normally have the time for. As a result, we now have lots of extra shelving, the garden is looking ok, the bike has come out again, and the piano has had a great workout. The main benefit of course is that the kids have had dad around all day to muck around with... Amy's been able to get out a fair amount, so she's not feeling housebound, and Beth has been passed around to lots of mums and dads who I presume assess at the time whether they have had their last or whether they should be thinking about another.... Joss and/or Tobes and I at one time or another went to the pool at Junee, Noah's ark, Bunnings, the doughnut shop, the park, the neighbours, ballet, friends houses, the movies, Clints crazy warehouse, parties....
Here's a couple of photos from Joss' party that Amy promised:
McDonalds to the rescue...
We'll give him a 'P' for persistance
Bethany went too - she just crashed in the pram and ignored all noise and pokings in the face... she remains, a delight to us all....
