...and waiting...
Well here we are finally in hospital. We arrived here at about 4pm after our doc decided it was time to induce. It's now 11pm and Amy's having a snooze (with the aid of a couple of sleeping tablets). She's started having contractions, but it's progressing very slowly. It's unlikely the bub will be born tonight. I can't sleep, so have been chatting to midwives, reading the paper and holding some bubs in the Special Care Nursery.. The benefits of working here have emerged - we've been put in the fancy 'birthing suite', the midwives have been very attentive, and I'm allowed to just help myself to whatever I want (including this PC).
J & T meanwhile are in the care of the Wilsons - they have 4 kids of their own, so we are more than grateful for their help! Their kids love our 2 and vice versa - they are all really excited about this 'sleep-over'.
I just checked on Amy, she's snoozing nicely... I might try to do the same...
Just for the record - NSW beat QLD convincingly in the State of Origin decider... it is a remarkable wife who will let her husband control the remote - but it is a truly wonderous wife who extends that courtesy even during labour ;)
