Victory

Celtic won the Scottish FA cup yesterday! I know, because I sat up until 3am and watched it... only a couple of hours previously the Brumbies defeated the Crusaders... also Man U won the English FA cup, but who cares...

A few guys came and watched the Union in our loungeroom which was converted nicely into a mini theatre thanks to a data projector, well placed lounges, foot rests and refreshments. Amy went out to a post womens convention wrap-up (with food) - and the kids slept. I kept praying the on-call phone wouldn't ring (which it didn't), and thus the night was good..

This morning I got to church realising I hadn't practiced any music, didn't know how the kids song went (which I lead), and listened to a sermon on idolotry (Isaiah 44:6-46:13) with football as an example of modern idolotry. Someone told me that they think that if you wake up the morning after a game and can't stop thinking about it, then you may be treating it as an idol - not sure if I agree.

Nick from up the road called this arvo - wanted a round of golf (so I obliged) - and I had an excellent round. It's now 11pm - I have been called tonight and need to be at work at midnight for about 1hr - and then start the week at 8am tomorrow.

I now have no time, nor the creativity to finish this post with any class, so go have a read someone else's blog - Michaela did something clever recently, so did Phil come to think of it... go read theirs.
