One month to go...

Work was quiet, so we took a stroll around the maternity ward today with the kids. Joss remembered the room where Amy stayed when Toby was born. Amy had a chat with the midwife who helped deliver Tobes, and we said "hi" to a little prem bub in the Special Care Nursery. Toby pressed the button on the elevator, that was enough to make his day.

It's an odd time for us - settled with two great kids and comfortable in our routines, our lives are to be changed yet again. The whole dynamic will be messed up and have to be redefined. It's inevitable, and we welcome it, but with a few nerves.

Looking at Phil's blog, it's lovely to see photo's of the ideal - (our cot has teeth marks and rust) it reminds us of the wonder, the unknown, the excitement, and although there will be thoughts more toward "deep breath...here we go again", those initial feelings still remain. We cannot wait to meet this bub - we don't know if it's a boy or girl and it doesn't matter. Whatever challenges face us in the future, that baby will be cared for - he/she will be loved in action and feel secure.

How could we respond in any other way....
