Back on track

Hours after writing the last post, Andrew himself succumbed to the dreaded bug. It was all looking a bit black for a while there, I wasn't sure we were ever going to see light at the end of the tunnel, or eat proper food again. I just kept reminding myself that there will be no vomiting in heaven.

So, now that we have recovered, what have we been up to? Toby is finally in his big bed! He first slept in it on Saturday night. We checked on him at about 8.30 (he goes to bed at 7.30) and he said that it was time to get up, but he eventually fell asleep and stayed in bed all night. He tends to creep out from under the bed clothes to lie just on the pillow. He has worked out how to get off the bed during his afternoon 'nap'. That word didn't used to need inverted commas, he used to actually sleep, but unfortunately those days seem to be fewer and far between. As long as I don't go in and find that he has smeared the room in nappy rash cream (Joss did that once) or eaten all his nappies (Joss never did that).

In other news the race between Kristin and I to give birth first is officially off. The government will give me $3000 if I can hold off until the 1st of July, so as soon as my exam is over I will take to my bed and not do anything that might bring on labour. Of course, I have to be realistic and acknowledge that my third baby is not nearly as likely to be late, and 10 days may be too much to ask. I will try not to be bitter if we miss out.

So, the cot is all set up in what will soon cease to be the study. Now I just need to finish all this hideous uni work and we'll be ready to go...
