Regarding Photos...
OK - so it was the Sound of Music.... moving on...
I quite enjoy looking at the various types of photography that people are posting. Sometimes I don't get it, but I think that like any good art, you can take it where you want it to go... My bro-in-law Tim has made great use of his newish camera - we're looking forward to frequent pics from the upcoming 'how come we never heard of it?' Scotland trip. My bro Mal is starting to post a few too - animals and kids are his forte at the moment, but don't label him yet... there are heaps of others, but I like seeing older pics - like the ones that Michaela (a friend of Tim's - conveniently in Scotland as I type) has been posting of late. These are the photos that help you briefly re-live the past, remind you of forgotten joys, expose your DNA, explain your behaviour, prioritise importance. Are these things important? I think definitely yes, and as photos are usually taken during happy times, I think we rarely regret looking back at good snaps.
I recently discovered a whole host of photos at my parents place - from way back before my time. Photos of when Mum and Dad were kids, photos of their parents and grandparents. And then there were the photos of my sibs and I as we were growing up, (they were a little more familiar) and slides as well (haven't started looking at them).. So I've learnt quite a bit, about family history and our early childhood, but also that my parents cherish good photos too. Both of them are good and creative phographers, and only now am I really seeing that. Here are a couple of my sister Flip and I when we were but winkets...

Myself and Flip - I have no idea how old we were.
