Who turned the lights out?

We had a power outage last night. Fortunately (for me only), I was at the hospital in airconditioned comfort until 10pm, but it was a very different story for the others.... From about 6-11pm Amy and the kids were trying to make the best of the mid-high 30's temps at home. Country energy wouldn't say when it would be fixed, the kids had to be fed, bathed, read to and plonked in bed. Poor Amy, even after doing all that, plus lighting candles, trying to keep the kids cool (nothing like trying to sleep in the heat), there wasn't much relief...

I eventually get home a little after 10pm, Joss is now up - can't sleep - Toby is a sweatball and Amy's had enough too... Thankfully the power comes back 11ish with a muted cheer from the neighbours and normality is restored within minutes...

I suppose if it wasn't that time of day, and/or a lot cooler, it wouldn't have been so bad. None-the-less, another one of those moments to remind us not to grumble too much when paying the power bill.

Finally, for all interested parties - little "Pippin" (for want of a better name) is doing well according to our Doc... we saw him today. He gave Joss prime position in front of the Ultrasound monitor and explained the lot to her... she was very polite...
