Ha Ha

You know, I am a very funny girl. Always have been. Andrew is pretty funny too, so I am very glad that our children are following in our footsteps. Joss and Tobes love to laugh, and Toby says "funny" while he laughs. It is very interesting to see exactly what it is that they find funny. Toby, at 2, seem to find laughing funny. If anyone else is laughing, he will laugh too. He doesn't have to get the joke, he doesn't even have to hear it, he just laughs. He also laughs at silliness, especially when he and Joss are being silly together.

Joss has a slightly more sophisticated sense of humour. Anything relating to bottoms is hilarious, even just the word bottom. She was recently getting into riddles, trying out ones of her own, like " What do pigs eat? Hats." It is really hard to keep laughing at riddles like that. What is funny is how, when Andrew makes one up, she always says "that's not funny Dad". She loves quoting kids' movies, like Iceage, Shrek and Toystory. She knows what is funny in those movies, but not that they are only funny in context. She thinks that "Who's up for round two?" and "You are a child's play thing" are funny in any situation. The other day she called Toby a "salad". We realised that in Toystory, Woody says something like 'Stop that you zealots", but Joss, not knowing what a zealot is, thinks he is calling them salads. I said "don't tell Aunty Sare you think salad is an insult".

Hopefully, my friend Janice will come and visit soon, and together we'll show them the meaning of hilarious... and unbeatable at Trivial Pursuit and Articulate.
